Only a few organize life in such a way as to give priority to the really important - education, health, relationships with a partner, travel, and their long-term goals.
No one except you will take care of your success - if you don’t treat life carefully, it’s just not responsible enough and you don’t deserve what you want to achieve.
Environment and energy

Death is not so terrible as, being on its threshold, to understand that you never lived for real.

2. Plan your future and invest in it.

But remember that you have full power over your life - you just have to decide to take the reins in your hands. What does it mean? This means that you need to correct or break the problematic relationship and learn to abandon what seems to be a waste of time. Make up your mind immediately.

First of all, forget about the question “what to do” - you should be interested in “why”.
“Why” is the source of your motivation, and “what” is just its expression in the form of concrete actions. For example, my “why”: I want to help people figure out their own lives and help them quickly achieve their goals. Means can be any - it can be blogging, raising children, studying, going to lunch and so on.
Many people think that to formulate their vision of the future means to come up with an exact plan for 20 years, but this is not so. The problem with such a long-term approach is that sooner or later it will begin to slow you down.
For example, Tim Ferris, instead of drawing up a detailed plan, puts 3–6 monthly experiments on the topic of interest at the moment. At the same time, he says that he has absolutely no idea what the result of his experiments will be, and this illustrates the futility of long-term planning. Although we never know which doors will open to us, he wants to be open to any possibilities.
At the same time, his “why” does not change.
When you actively create in collaboration with other people, the whole becomes more than the sum of its parts, so you will not be able to plan everything. At some point you will find yourself at a level where your personal needs will not matter, because you will understand that with the help of others you can do things a thousand times more significant than alone.
Without expecting any definite result, you will be sure that everything will turn out in the best way - this is the result of creativity and cooperation, and it exceeds the understanding and abilities of the individual. “Every person’s life is a diary in which he is going to write one story, and writes another, and the most miserable hour of it is when he compares the scale of what he really achieved with what he was going to accomplish.”
But I want to please you: when you are going to make a plan and start tracking the results, the desired changes come quickly.
First, highlight priorities. As Jim Collins said in his book From Good to Great:
"If you have more than three priorities, you do not have them."
Priorities are what your life is built around, they should reflect your “why”, and not vice versa. It can be:
- Important relationships for you
- Business and Finance
- Self-improvement (for example, health or effective use of time).
You choose your priorities, but I promise that when they are selected, and you will begin to treat them consciously, you will be able to manage them, become more confident in yourself, and life will become easier.
Simplicity and organization will enhance your quality of life, there will be more responsibility, but responsibility is the same as freedom.
4. Prayer and meditation
Nowadays, people spend their days in vanity. Vanity, vanity, vanity. But no matter how fussing, if you go the wrong way, it will not help. You will make mistakes, get up and make mistakes again, and so on to infinity. Poet Thomas Merton once said:
“A person can spend his whole life climbing the ladder of success so that when he reaches the top, he can find that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall.”
It happens - we are drowning in the swamp of trifles and we understand too late that the goals we were striving for were alien.
Therefore, you need to devote a considerable amount of time to meditation or prayer — this will help to see more clearly what is happening to you and open your mind to opportunities that elude you while you are immersed in vanity.
For example, a few days ago I prayed all night, thought a lot, listened to inspiring music and wrote a diary. And after a few hours, I had a brilliant idea.
In addition, during this time I understood something about the relationships that are important to me, and immediately wrote letters to the people I was thinking about. The result was a terrific collaboration experience.
Our thoughts are very powerful, they control not only you, but also the people around you. If you think about someone well, his life becomes better. That is why people “send positive energy” or pray for others — it really works.
Your thoughts create endless waves of consequences, diverging around you.
If you regularly devote time to prayer or meditation, the power of your thoughts will increase and interesting things will start to happen - if the idea of a miracle scares you, think of it as luck.
Whatever you call it, if you spend every day part of your time on reflection, good luck will not keep you waiting.
For example, during my recent deep immersion in myself, one of my favorite authors came across my blog. He retweeted one of my articles and wrote a private message, and now we have become friends and chatting on the phone for hours.

5. Move to your goal every day.
How many days ago did you last do something to move towards your goal?
If you do not make a conscious effort, life with its trifles overwhelms us, leaving no time for self-improvement and movement in the chosen direction, and soon after we grow old, we will turn back and ask ourselves where the time has gone. Writer Harold Hill said:
"If you put everything off all the time for tomorrow, someday you will find that you have only a lot of empty spaces left yesterday."
If you have managed to organize, make a plan, learn how to track results and accustomed yourself to prayer or meditation, the rest will follow automatically - you will be focused on the right things and you will be in the right condition to fulfill your plans.
This kind of important business is best done in the morning, when you have the maximum volitional resource.
And remember: nothing itself is done, and by the end of the day you will exhale and become mired in petty affairs. There are always a million reasons to postpone something for tomorrow, only this tomorrow never comes.
So, here is your mantra: unpleasant in the first place. Start the day with the most important, and repeat tomorrow.
