Sometimes it is possible to offer steamed vegetables to children, but they must also be steamed and finely chopped. In stewed vegetables you can easily disguise foods unloved by the child: onions, cauliflower, broccoli.

It must be remembered that children are attracted, above all, by beautifully designed food, so that a child will gladly eat his portion of salad if he finds a funny face on it or an amazing beast laid out of the same vegetables or boiled eggs. For dressing vegetable dishes for children should not use mayonnaise, vinegar and other hot sauces. It is better to restrict low-fat sour cream or a drop of olive oil with lemon juice.
Appetizing view of the cooked dish will cause increased secretion of gastric juice, and thus improve the absorption of food and bring a lot of joy to the little eater.

First courses for children 7 years

Often, babies turn up their noses from the soup plates. But experienced mothers came up with a few tricks that inspire interest in the first dish:

  • delicious serving,
  • accompanying "snacks" - pies, sandwiches, crackers, in a word, that is ideally combined with the soup.

Ingredients vary depending on your child’s abilities and preferences. The most popular soups are pumpkin, potato, zucchini, broccoli, carrots. The method of preparation is simple: boil coarsely chopped vegetables for about 20 minutes, add onion, garlic and carrots as desired, beat with a blender, sprinkle with herbs and salt to taste. If you add processed cheese or some cream, then the dish will get a delicate milky shade.

Light vegetable soup

Use seasonal vegetables or those that your child loves. Suitable potatoes, celery, carrots, onions, zucchini, pumpkin, cabbage or cauliflower, broccoli, beets, peppers, etc. You can add cereals (rice, barley) or pasta.

Classic cabbage soup is made from white cabbage, but there are variations with the addition of spinach or sorrel, for example. Boil finely chopped potatoes, turnips and carrots, rub greens through a sieve and place in vegetable broth. You can chop the ingredients in a blender and add boiled egg yolk and greens.

Mushroom soup

Many mothers are concerned about the question whether a seven-year-old child can eat mushroom soup. Mushrooms will bring the maximum benefit if they were collected in an ecologically clean place, and in the soup are contained in a small amount. This is quite a heavy meal for a child’s body, but sometimes it is quite acceptable to vary the diet with such a dish.

Casseroles for children

Depending on the composition, casseroles will well complement any meal. Cottage cheese, fruit and cereal casseroles are perfect for breakfast or a seven-year-old snack, meat for lunch, potato and vegetable for dinner.

The main thing is to avoid dressings from mayonnaise or purchased sauces. For a baby tummy it is more beneficial to flavor the dish with a spoon of vegetable oil or natural yogurt.
