Drug pyrogenal

Pyrogenalimmunomodulator bacterial origin, having a wide spectrum of action. Its active substance is bacterial lipopolysaccharide, which is obtained from the microbial mass of gram-negative cultures.

Pyrogenal has many properties:

  • desensitizing (anti-allergic),
  • anti-inflammatory,
  • regenerating
  • adjustable pyrogenic (increases the body temperature by 1-2 o for 2-4 hours, affecting the thermostatic center in the hypothalamus),
  • specific and general immunostimulating (increases the general resistance of the organism to infections),
  • stimulates the activity of the adrenal glands, resulting in increased concentration of corticosteroid hormones in the blood,
  • increases the permeability of tissues, capillary walls and the blood-brain barrier, resulting in improved metabolic processes,
  • accelerates the processes of regeneration (recovery) of nervous tissue,
  • facilitates the penetration of antibiotics and other chemotherapeutic drugs into the focus of inflammation,
  • restores blood circulation in the affected tissues and organs,
  • prevents the formation of adhesions and scars, as well as smoothes existing post-traumatic skin defects,
  • improves the fibrinolytic (anticoagulant) properties of blood,
  • helps to restore the lost functions of organs.

Leukopenia (decrease in the number of leukocytes) occurs in the blood after Pyrogen administration, which is followed by leukocytosis (increase in the level of leukocytes).

After introduction into the body, the main part (up to 90%) of Pyrogenal accumulates on the surface of leukocytes, and only 10% circulates freely in the blood.

The drug is derived only by the kidneys.

  • Hypersensitivity to the main active ingredient or auxiliary components of the drug,
  • cardiovascular failure
  • kidney and liver failure
  • pregnancy and lactation,
  • a history of autoimmune diseases
  • acute diseases with a large rise in temperature,
  • blood diseases
  • chronic diseases in the period of exacerbation or in the stage of decompensation (exception - diseases that are indications for prescribing medications).

Pyrogenal is prescribed with caution in diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases and convulsions of various etiologies.

Pyrogenal treatment

How to apply Pyrogenal?
Pyrogenal, depending on the form of release can be applied rectally in the form of candles or injections. The choice of route of administration, dose and treatment regimen depends on the main diagnosis.

The doctor individually selects for each patient the minimum dose of Pyrogenal, which causes a rise in temperature. This dose is administered until the temperature stops rising after the injection or the injection of a candle. As soon as this occurs, the dose begins to increase.

In treatment with Pyrogenal, due to the high probability of side effects, one should refrain from managing transport, complex mechanisms and other dangerous activities that require increased attention and quick response.

Pyrogenal is prescribed to children infrequently and with caution due to the lack of reliable data on the results of treatment.

Patients prone to febrile convulsions or with convulsive readiness, Pyrogenal is prescribed under the guise of anticonvulsant therapy and only in stationary conditions.

Pyrogenal Dosage
Candles are administered rectally once a day, every day or every other day, depending on the doctor's prescription. The minimum single dose - 50 mg, the maximum - 200 mg.

Treatment with suppositories most often takes place according to such a scheme, in which the course requires 12 suppositories - 3 for 50 mcg each, 3 for each 100 mcg, 3 for each 150 mcg and 3 for each 200 mcg.

But sometimes the scheme and course of treatment can be individual and different from the standard ones.

In case of protracted acute processes of bacterial or viral etiology or frequent relapses of acute respiratory infections, Pyrogenal is prescribed as an immunomodulator in the form of rectal suppositories of 50 µg or 100 µg. The course of therapy in this case is from 5 to 10 suppositories.

Solution for intramuscular injection
Injections do once a day every other day. Sometimes Pyrogenal is diluted with a 0.9% sodium chloride solution before administration. An open ampoule with a solution cannot be stored.

The dose of the drug at the first injection of the minimum - 2.5 mg. But in the course of therapy, it is gradually increased by 2.5-5 μg and adjusted to a maximum of 100 μg. The course of treatment is from 10 to 30 injections. If necessary, it can be repeated, but not earlier than in 2-3 months.

In pyrotherapy, Pyrogenal is prescribed in a dose of 5 to 10 μg and administered intramuscularly 1 time per day. This dose is gradually increased to 100 -150 mcg. The interval between injections is 1 - 2 days.

Doctors sometimes practice combination treatment, in which the injections alternate with the administration of suppositories.

Pyrogenal and alcohol

According to the observations of practitioners, Pyrogenal has the ability to arrest the binges and hangover in 96-98% of cases. Therefore, in case of alcoholism, Pyrogenal is prescribed to reduce the craving (pathological craving) for alcohol in the first days of treatment by artificially raising the temperature.

In this case, the drug is administered for five days according to a special scheme with a gradual increase in dosage: 50 μg - 75 μg - 100 mg - 125 μg - 150 μg per day. After two or three hours, the body temperature rises to 38-39 o С and again normalizes during the day.

If the treatment of alcoholism is carried out on an outpatient basis, the maximum dose of Pyrogenal should not exceed 100 mg per day.

Pyrogenal in gynecology

The main indications for the use of Pyrogenal in gynecological practice include the following:

  • secondary infertility
  • sexually transmitted diseases - syphilis, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, etc.,
  • inflammation of the uterus,
  • human papillomavirus infection.

In gynecology, pyrogenic is also used in pyrotherapy and for provocation of latent infectious diseases in women.

Pyrogenal suppresses Trichomonas (pathogens of trichomoniasis) and Giardia at the cellular level, and promotes regenerative processes in the tissues affected by the pathogens.

In the treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, Pyrogenal consistently fights with each new wave of the pathogen, and also helps chemical preparations penetrate into the focus of inflammation and completely destroy microorganisms.

The drug is effective in combating gonococci, chlamydia, trichomonads and Giardia.

Provocation Pyrogenal

Sometimes venereal diseases (in particular, gonorrhea) may be asymptomatic. The patient carrier of the pathogen infects all its sexual partners, often without knowing it.

Pyrogenic provocation is used to identify hidden genital infections in the human body that are asymptomatic, to clarify the diagnosis and monitor the effectiveness of the treatment.

With provocation, Pyrogenal is administered intramuscularly, in parallel with the vaccine vaccine.

The purpose of the provocation is to cause an exacerbation of the disease by artificially induced decrease in immunity and at the same time increase the viability of the pathogens of the disease.

Drug reviews

Concerning Pyrogenal, the opinions of patients and doctors do not always coincide. Reviews of doctors about the drug are positive, because provocation by Pyrogenal contributes to the rapid refinement of the diagnosis and timely start of treatment.

Patients quite often speak negatively of Pyrogenal, noting the pronounced soreness of the injections. And many of them are simply not ready for side effects in the form of temperature and malaise, which manifest themselves in the first hours after the administration of the drug. However, the therapeutic effect of Pyrogenal in the reviews is not subject to criticism.

Consult your doctor and help you find the right dosage.

One of the most common methods of application is the fight against alcohol. When attempting to bind with alcohol, Pyrogenal is prescribed, using its pyrogenic properties, is able to stop hard drinking and hangover conditions at the initial stage of treatment, by artificially raising the temperature.

During an elevated temperature, the person completely disappears the desire to take alcohol.

It is applied within 5 days, corresponding to the special scheme with gradual increase in a dosage.

Another popular application is pyrotherapy.

Pyrotherapy - treatment by increasing body temperature by introducing pyrogenic substances into the body. The use of pyrotherapy is accompanied by the following positive effects:

  • Blood circulation improvement
  • Metabolism improvement
  • Normalization of the CNS and ANS
  • Improving the immunobiological response of the body.

Forms of release

The cost of Pyrogenal in ampoules ranges from 300 to 500 rubles.

The drug has two main forms of manufacture:

  • Rectal candles - are available in one package of 5 or 10 pieces with a diameter of up to 1 cm of the same concentration. There are also types of release of 5 pieces of different concentrations, and a set of 12 pieces of different concentrations.
  • Ampoules with intramuscular injection - sold in packs of 10 ampoules of the same concentration. Each ampoule is 1 ml.

About Pyrogenal formed a rather contradictory opinion. Doctors are happy with the drug and recommend it in most cases.

The cost of candles ranges from 400 to 900 rubles.

People who were treated with pyrogenal, left negative reviews about the drug. The reason for such reviews were frequent side effects that caused severe fatigue and fever.

Most reviews are written like this: “I put candles to my husband, pyrogenal, after which he had a very high temperature, and a headache. I do not recommend. To avoid such situations, you must carefully read the instructions.

Mode of application

The solution for injections is administered intramuscularly or intravenously. For every person. The treatment scheme is built for each person individually, depending on:

  • Condition of the patient
  • Age
  • Drug susceptibility
  • Disease

Injections are given daily, once a day. The dose of the drug is set in a certain way. First you need to enter 25-50 MCG and wait until the body temperature starts to rise to 37.6-38 ° C. As soon as the temperature stops rising, the dose of the medicine is increased by 25-50 mcg. After use, the vial must be discarded.

The maximum value of a single use of pyrogenal for adults is 1000 MCH. The maximum dose for children is significantly reduced depending on age, starting at 5–15 ICG, increasing as necessary up to a limit of 250–500 ICG.

The course of treatment is built on 10-30 injections. At the recommendation of the doctor will need to undergo a course again. Re-treatment is possible only after a break of 2-3 months.

Suppositories - In this form, the drug is administered rectally. The initial dose is 50 mcg and, in the absence of a strict prescription, gradually increases to 200 mcg.

If pyrogenic suppositories are used as immunoprophylaxis or immunorehabilitation, then 50-100 mcg will be enough.

It is possible to put suppositories both in the afternoon, and at night. However, doctors recommend to install better at night when the body is as long as possible in a fixed state.

Available in the form of a solution for injection intramuscularly 0.005% and 0.01% with the content of sodium chloride. The drug promotes regenerative processes, activates the body's protective reserves and normalizes the tone of blood vessels at the site of inflammation.

Pros: improves immunity, speeds up recovery after surgery, relieves inflammation and swelling.

Minuses: Quite often, side effects similar to pyrogenale are manifested. The drug is almost impossible to get.

Registration for it in Russia was canceled in 1977.

After the introduction of the drug, the substance is fixed on the surface of circulating blood leukocytes (up to 85–90% of the dose). Approximately 10% remains in the circulating plasma and approximately 5% is adsorbed on the erythrocyte membranes.

With the introduction of Pyrogenal in the latent period (45 to 90 minutes), leukopenia develops, which is later replaced by leukocytosis, which lasts for 24–48 hours.

From the body the drug is excreted in the urine.

Single initial / maximum dose - 50/200 mcg.

If there are no other doctor's prescriptions, Pyrogenal suppositories are used with a gradual increase in dose: 50, 100, 150 and 200 mcg, while suppositories of one concentration should be applied 3 times (a total of 12 pieces per course).

If the drug is used as monotherapy for immunorehabilitation and immunoprophylaxis with incomplete recovery after acute bacterial and viral diseases, a concentration of 50 or 100 μg is usually prescribed (5-10 suppositories per course).

As prescribed by the physician, a combined use with the injection of Pyrogenal is possible.
